June 2022 – C/W CSTAC News and Resources

A Farewell From Out-Going C/W CSTAC Director,
Liz Anderson

As many of you are aware, I will be leaving my position as Director of the Central/Western Region Community Schools TAC at the end of June to return to my full-time faculty role in Binghamton University’s Department of Teaching, Learning and Educational Leadership.

I’ve learned so much during my time here, and you’ve been a big part of that. I want to thank you for your partnership as we worked together to help every student, family and community in our region thrive using a community schools approach.

The incoming Director, Tara Edmunds, and I have worked closely together for many years within Binghamton University Community Schools. With Tara’s leadership, the Central/Western Region Community Schools TAC will continue its strong support to our region around building capacity for community schools.

Wishing you all the best,

~Liz

Introducing New C/W CSTAC Director,
Tara Edmunds

Hello! I am delighted to have this opportunity to work as the new Director for the Central/Western Community Schools TAC! As a previous Community Schools Coordinator, I understand the importance of partnerships to leverage and strengthen community schools to support all children and their families.

I have had the privilege of working with Liz and while I know her presence on the TAC will be missed, I hope I can continue to provide support to the region like she has for the past 4 years. I look forward to collaborating and learning more about what many of you are doing to strengthen the community schools approach in your area.

~Tara

Community School Strategy Implementation Roadmap

As schools and district administrators prepare for the summer and the 2022-23 program year, we present the Eastern Region Community School Implementation Road Map. Focusing on the Implementation Stages Planning Tool developed by the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN), this tool provides educators with clear-cut, practical ways to determine where they are in the process of applying the community school model to their schools.
