Advancing Educational Equity: Defining Implicit Bias
October 21, 2019 @ 8:30 am – 3:00 pm

Location:
The Conference Center at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, Newark, NY
In support of ESSA, districts are working to create environments in which all students can succeed and thrive in school no matter who they are, where they live, where they go to school, or where they come from. To support this work, Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES is inviting educators from across the region to participate in a conversation around educational equity and the role implicit bias has on student agency and empowerment.
To deepen this conversation, on October 21st, Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES is excited to present Dr. Bryant Marks as the founding Director of the National Training Institute on Race and Equity and a professor in the Department of Psychology at Morehouse College, Dr. Marks’ personal and professional mission is to develop the knowledge, wisdom and skills of others that will allow them to reach their full potential and live their lives with purpose and passion. This full-day, interactive workshop, will give educators the opportunity to work directly with Dr. Marks, participate in breakout sessions led by local leaders and reflect on your own practices.
This event is not sponsored by the CS TACs.
