Please join IEL’s Coalition for Community Schools Research Practice Network for this month’s webinar devoted to an examination of two of the community schools research agenda themes: “Elevating Student, Family, and Educator Voice in Research” and “Translating Research into Practice.” We will be joined by Dr. Kristen Goessling and pep marie of the Philadelphia Participatory Research Collective who will discuss a critical participatory action research (CPAR) project that examined a citywide coalition organizing to bring community schools to Philadelphia. Their research focused on ways to enact accountability and hold community schools to a vision of transformative community-driven public schools. Through the research process, the collective built power and created space for new mechanisms of accountability that restore and reinforce the strength and power of students, families, and communities.
