The “Primer on the NYS Children’s Mental Health System” gives a comprehensive overview of the interaction between the state systems supporting children’s mental health wellness. It reviews terminology, the roles of state systems (Office of Mental Health, County Leadership, Community Based Providers, and Schools), funding, collaboration between systems, the role of school social workers & clinicians, FERPA & HIPAA, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Trauma Informed Care (TIC) and Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports.
